The oil streaks show that there's oil in the engines ;-)

the digital camera is shooting a series of stills at either fifteen or thirty frames per second. Try looking at your television through an electric fan at low speed, you'll get the same effect.

When theres no oil on the wings...its time to worry.
-
@Proplinerman does most of it get deposited shortly after startup?, iwish there were public flights of these beauties

Old planes old people old stuff. Not a romantic time. Segregation was normal.

@Proplinerman The propellers spin so slow! hehe optical illusions..

i love the oil streaks on the wings. Ole Radial engines are like Detroit Diesel 2 stroke engines......if they dont leak, then something is wrong.
-
@knifeedge63 that is actually incorrect, one just assembled in the factory is clean, hahahaha
-
@flyboy8492 there is no such thing as a clean radial!!!!
-
gotta love that oil streak. Those radial engines are like ole Detroit 2 strokers......the leak oil all the time! As they say bout a Detroit which goes for most big radial engines, if it doesnt leak oil, something is wrong with it.
you were shooting from a seat over the wing, but how could you connect to the cockpit intercom?

No, just normal oil usage and leakage on old big piston engines.

It's not owned by an airline, but by a Swiss club, the Super Constellation Flyers' Association.
