EMI TR-90

This is an early recorder, TR for Tape recorder. This machine is stereo and from about 1961, the recording reproduction is very good, listening to this machine inspired me to buy the Studer C37.

Yes you are right, used in the James bond film but it was Louis Armstrong with "we have all the time in the world" composed by John Barry and Hal David,

Excellent site,I helpd design this machine the TR90 in 1957 whilst I was doing an appreniceship at EMI of Hayes. It was my idea to use push buttons that operated directly onto the relays amatures. Also I sorted out the back tension and forward tensoning arms that stopped the flutter caused by the multipole coging effect caused by the spool motors. I have worked in radio and audio all of my life from 7 years old (1943), and later in TV and video when available.
