Thanks for the comment and questions! The rod I am using is a shakespeare Ugly Stik 7ft.6in. Medium Light, and an ABU Garcia 6500 Line Counter Reel. The line is STREN High Impact 30 lb. test. I think the med. light rod provides less resistance to the fish while using live bait. I use the med. heavy rod for cut bait.
