To even answer yes or no to this question is to assume that right and wrong does exist. Which is an assumption many atheists seem to make.

Right, wrong, good or bad dont physically exist. All of them are there as standards, set by us, for our reasons. I would recomend Richard Dawkins : "The Selfish Gene".

Yes, murder is wrong. Atheism has nothing to do with morals and values as you seem to believe. Your question is therefore flawed.

Let me ask you a question in return, do you believe that it is wrong to put homosexuals to death as a punishment?

@TheOther4815 It is wrong for an atheist, because the source of our objective morality is reason. And we know, intellectually, the implications of suffering on us, and to others. I don't do to others what I would not like to be done to myself. Christians didn't come up with that idea, and this is truth to me REGARDLESS of the existence of God. Would murder be ok with you if God didn't exist? Do you think anyone who's not a christian thinks murder is a good thing?

"why is it wrong..?" what are you trying to do here... are you just trying to convince yourself that the only reason anything is right , wrong good or bad is because god said so or something? i mean what kind of an alternative answer do you expect people to give to questions such as this that doesn't leave you enough room to make a recurring "but why? but why?"..?
