@sensibleadult Look opinions are like assholes. Obviously you like to shove yours around as fact with absolutely no evidence to back it up. Answer 3 questions. Can you prove that Christianity is the one true religion, that god exists, and that evolution is undoubtably false.
-
@whitefire1997 If you are trying to posit some website from Berkely as unbiased and objective, then you are more clueless than I originally thought
-
Have you ever read one book supporting creation? Have you ever done a study to investigate it? How can you say there's no evidence? Have you looked everywhere? Then you cannot say there is none. You were not objective enough to search. Your statement is not credible. You are indeed too closed minded to even be curious.
-
@sensibleadult Although I cannot disprove the existence of God, I do not believe in it because there is no evidence that supports it. I believe in evolution becuase there is enormous amounts of evidence. You cannot prove Christianity is the "true" religion or that "god" exists, or that creationism is true. However, the opposing side has evidence that goes against your claims. I am not the one who is closed minded here.

evolution.berkely.edu/evolibra
ry/misconceptions_faqs google that and go to the link.

@whitefire1997 No. Don't think so. I know that's what they try to put over, and they squelch opposing views, but the truth is out there , if you're not closed minded.
-
@whitefire1997 Listen, there are mountains of evidence that point to the veracity of Christianity, but ultimately it still requires faith on the part of each individual., although not nearly as much faith as it takes to believe evolution, and neither I nor anyone can prove God exists. I would suggest you read Josh McDowell's EVIDENCE THAT DEMANDS A VERDICT, for starters. There are unlimited volumes of evidence available.
-
@sensibleadult Yes threre have been transitional species found, they are actually in the natural history museum right now. Then there is evidence found in genetics, medicine, and species both alive and dead.
-
@sensibleadult There is no evidence for creationism. There are mounds of evidence that support evolution. Done.
-
@whitefire1997 There is no observational scientific evidence that disproves creationism. Theories, yes. But no transitional species have ever been found.
-
@sensibleadult Okay prove to me that Christianity is true and all others are false. Why are you Christian and not a Muslim or Buddhist? Show me 1 shread of evidence that god exists.
-
@whitefire1997 I do agree with you about the religions spawning some bad things. But the thing you have to remember is that all religions except Christianity are false, and a great portion of those purporting to be "Christian" are false, also. Even Jesus said that would be the case. So the evil done under the banner of Christianity cannot be attributed to the true religion of Christianity.
-
@sensibleadult Those who believe that evolution through natural selection is not a fact can be lumped in with the same group that thought the earth was flat, or that Elvis is still alive. Facts and evidence is on the side of the majority who look at the minotirty of scientist, who despite the evidence in their own work, still believe in creationism. It demonstrates the greatest flaw in their own ability to advance our understanding of the world.
-
@sensibleadult Just like schools. I don't care if my kids teachers are of any religion as long as those beliefs do not influence the education. Education based on factual evidence at hand.
-
@sensibleadult If you cannot make decisions that better the people withouth involving your belief in something that is not proven to be true then maybe it isnt the right place for you to be.
-
@sensibleadult I am old enough thank you. I like how immediately you try to find a flaw that you can pick on. I am well educated and I am not picking sides as I am saying if firm historical evidence that all religions have shown to dismiss, murder, destroy and reverse many educational advances that went against their religous views. Historically that is not debatable. Yes there are good schools, yes there are good hospitals. I am saying overall there is a lot of bad that came from all religions
-
@whitefire1997 And, yes, the miseducation of our youth concerns me greatly. I have never seen such willful ignorance as exists in our public education system.
-
@whitefire1997 Now, about the senator. It is not only possible, but very likely the earth is only a few thousand years old. Regardless of what you may have been taught, there are a multitude of credible scientists who share that view.
-
@whitefire1997 I remain in disbelief. How old are you? Where have you been educated? Why are you not aware that most of the great learning institutions of the world were started by Christians? Most of the world's advancements, discoveries, and inventions, too? Most of the hospitals and learning centers were, too. Name one renowned hospital established by atheists. I daresay the truth is just the opposite of your statement. Now you have a point when it comes to Islam, Hinduism, etc...
-
@sensibleadult So is that something that worries you about the future of our foreign affairs and the education of the youth.
-
@sensibleadult A senetor was asked about evolution. He said he did not believe in it but adopted based on his religion that creation was true and that the earth was about 10,000 years old. When asked how a person in such a powerful seat of decision and law making could believe such a thing. He quoted "you do not have to have a high IQ to be in the senate"
-
@sensibleadult Once again I am not saying that all people who have a religious belief are this way, but the point of my question is that the United States would be the bus and the driver are those in power. There is historical evidence that areas where, in what many may call extreme, religous influence has been introduced there have been great loss in educational progress or an increase in violence against those who are believed to be threatening to that religious belief.
-
@whitefire1997 I don't see how your question is relevant. Until I do , I see no need to answer.
-
@whitefire1997 I don't believe what I'm reading. How in the world could your entire belief system be checked at the door of the legislative chambers? How could it not be part of your deliberative thought process? How could it NOT factor in to your decision making? That would be literally impossible to determine or prohibit. It cannot be as you say. Impossible. And who says religion belongs only in church? Who made that rule? I beg to differ. I say the opposite.
-
@sensibleadult Hypothetical question... would you feel comfortable being on a bus if the driver believed without a doubt that either the bus could fly, or that it was going to explode and there was nothing to stop it? Would you stay for the ride?
She sounds like she's ready to start sacrificing people to her gods

Michele Bachmann is full of shit! Gay's, Bisexuals, and straights are all still human beings. They should all have the same rights to live and be who they want. I'm sick of all these bullshit stupid religious people hating on people for being gay. I may not be gay myself, but I'm still supportive of gays because they have the right to choose whatever sexual orientation they choose to be.
