Professor Finkelstein's third pick for the worst CEO of 2011 is Jon Corzine, former CEO of MF Global. An accomplished leader, Corzine is an unfortunate example of "Why Smart Executives Fail." Corzine was on the road to making this list when he took over MF Global, and instilled his cowboy trading style at the company - making high risk trades and not listening to his internal risk officers. A post-2008 example of the financial crisis, regulators caught on to the over-the-top risk in Corzine's trading and couldn't ignore it. At the end of the day MF Global couldn't come up with enough money to cover their trades, and with millions upon millions of dollars still missing, this year's list wouldn't be complete without Corzine.
