Wow, hearing it from you is more than insightful thanks. I had a knee operation last year and I still struggle with it, can't imagine that he coulds actually play with so many.
Was that really him with the post underneath or a quote ? Just too cool if Roman Gabriel is here on Youtube talking with us!!
Some time, would you ask him to talk a little bit about the 1969 playof game against the Vikings....a thriller of a game known as " The Fall of Romans Empire".
Thanks so much.

@6400az And the fact that George was a stick disciplinarian didn't sit well with some of the younger players. They protested to management and management caved in and got rid of George.

@6400az Yes I am one of his sons. I think it was like 11 surgical ops on his right knee 5 on the left, 8 on his throwing arm. 69 He played with a fractured forearm on his throwing arm for most of the season. Plus we have a condition in our family that effects the knees. George wanted Dad to be a QB / Coach. From what my Dad told me, Carroll Rosenbloom did not like my Dad. So they had him take another physical and he failed the 2nd physical.

"I know a lot of fans are watching guys going into the Hall of Fame, and they wondered why I haven't gone in. I always say, look, if it happens, it happens. There are a lot in there who deserve to be and a lot who aren't in there who deserve to be. I think maybe the shameful thing is that so much of it is politics. My stats stand up to many of them who are in there. Some will say, `Well, he didn't play in a Super Bowl.' Then anyone who didn't win a Super Bowl shouldn't be in there." R. Gabriel

I love how people say they follow my Dad and then say he is not a HOF'em. My Dad was one of the best quarterbacks of his era. At the time of his retirement in 1977, Dad ranked in the all-time top 10 in passing attempts (4,498), completions (2,366), passing yards (29,444), and touchdowns (201). Despite these impressive numbers, and the fact that he ranks within the top 50 all time leaders in just about every category, makes him HOF candidate.
Roman Gabriel had a tremendous record as the leader of the Rams. He should be considered for the Hall of Fame.
