Flying at the 2010 Easter National Fly-In at Tumut. The four days saw all sorts of craft take to the skies including small aircraft, trikes, powered paragliders, paragliders and of course hang gliders.

Four days of fantastic fun flying local sites with other pilots and swapping stories around the camp fires later that night. Tumut Aero Club kindly hosted campers on their grounds, making their facilities available to all, which added to the overall atmosphere to be around so many excellent pilots who were willing to provide useful advice on cross country flying techniques.

The cameras used were a Panasonic Limux and a GoPro HD wide angle.

This video is of the three sites, Argelong (NSW), Honeysuckle Range (NSW) and Corryong (VIC) being the site of the Corryong Cup competition with its excellent mountain range, launch and plenty of flat/clear landing paddocks with friendly land owners. Thought it would be interesting to show the differences in the landscape and thermalling techniques at different locations. There were a few experienced pilots who showed the group the way.

Corryong on the day we were there was producing good thermals on the ridges and in the protected areas on the flats.

Come fly with me - watch and enjoy!

  • whats the blue wire coming from your back?

  • @CraigRidley1 I live in hope of a long flight, so carry a water bladder and a tube to suck the water and keep hydrated and stop the mouth getting dry :-)

  • Salut

Je pense qu'il y a un petit problème de réglage, car voler les bras tendus,c'est pas terrible.A corriger,je pense.Superbe image.

  • @0675jerbar thanks Jerbar, the outstretched arms are when pushing out during a thermal turn, but I've dropped the harness down and you might see a different position in my other videos. thanks for the comment :-)

Merci Jerbar, les bras étendus sont en poussant au cours d'une tour thermique, mais j'ai laissé tomber le faisceau vers le bas et vous pourriez voir une position différente dans mes autres vidéos. Merci pour le commentaire :-)
