It actually feels like Asterix and Obelix were made into supporting characters (in their own film no less) just so the writers could shoehorn a Disney love story between Justforkix and Abba.

The movie(s) that will be released that are based on the Bone comics by Jeff Smith.
Asterix and Obelix were part of the very long chain of inspirations, I think (besides the Uncle Scrooge comics and Lord of the Rings)

It's a fun little story regardless of which language it is in, but....they could have chosen a better voice for Asterix. Regardless of earlier posts by people, it does seem to be dubbed from french as the title distinctly said "Asterix est le Viking".
