On June 5, 2010, the Holliday Nature Preserve Association partnered with the City of Westland and Wayne County Parks to help clean up the Rouge River and improve the Holliday Nature Preserve in Westland. More than 50 volunteers turned out of the event sponsored by Friends of the Rouge. Volunteers planted trees, woodchipped trails, installed boardwalks picked up trash, pulled trash out of the river and performed woody debris management to help oxygenate the river and improve its flow. Here is a video from the event. Visit hnpa.org for more information.
