Scriabin has a very enchanting, repetitive narrative poetry. Not in a boring way, more like rhyme or incantation. Sometimes pianists get in the way of that by being capricious and making complex what should be simple symmetries imho. That's sort of how I feel about Sofronitsky. This pianist isn't "dreamy" or "limpid" or "languid" or any of the other Scriabin buzz-words...but I recognize the Scriabin I love here, and I'm grateful for it!
Ya... WAAYYY too over-exaggerated.. This guy is stupid! His technique is amazing. But anyone can learn how to juggle, for example. That has nothing to do with art. His voicing is practically inexistant, like has no idea how to read notes, just learns to play them as fast as he could. It looks like all his practice just went into playing fast to show off, but a lot of ppl can play fast. That's nothing special. He IS, however, creative, I'll tell you that. Some of the sections are very original..

I know, because I've heard 50000 renditions of this piece, and I've played it myself.

You can tie your own shoelaces without looking at your hands. Why should playing a piano chord require a pianist to look at his hands?
Such good playing deserves more thoughtful YouTube comment.

at the beginning, he plays without looking at his hands, like he feels the notes? incredible performance!

Good Performance. However, rubato in Presto --- are over-exaggerated without giving me a feeling of ecstasy.
