The first three and a half minutes of a documentary exploration of the mythic beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge, the most popular suicide destination in the world, and those drawn by its call. Steel and his crew filmed the bridge during daylight hours from two separate locations for all of 2004, recording most of the two dozen deaths in that year (and preventing several others). They also taped interviews with friends, families and witnesses, who recount in sorrowful detail stories of struggles with depression, substance abuse and mental illness. Raises questions about suicide, mental illness and civic responsibility as well as the filmmaker's relationship to his fraught and complicated material.

  • A movie about peope comitting suicide?? :o this world is crazy!

  • @jesperH9 - Why not? Yes the world is crazy, but are we not allowed to talk about the craziness?

This film is actually very very good and really helped me understand the loneliness and suffering of people who are struggling with suicidal thoughts. Maybe you don't need that help, or maybe you would just as soon not confront this subject, but I found the film to be really insightful in tackling what is a very tough subject.

Cry....I have always believed that each and every one of us are all trying valiantly, in this world, trying our best and each of us with our own burdens and sorrows, so lets all be extra kind to everyone.....your smile will make a huge change

  • Life is not easy for some but for others it is laid on a plate. Paris Hilton for one. Life is made harder for those by those that rob you of your real wealth. Just see how many the Bankers have killed by their greed.
