Lyrics for the song "Pyramus & Thisby" from the marvellous film "Were the world mine" and where you can find them in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Nights Dream".

***

"I cheated because I watched it on DVD, so I would watch a song and then back it up and have "A Midsummer Night's Dream" on my laptop, and search on the lyrics. It was kind of amazing how it jumps all over.

Williams: It's brilliant like that.

And it flows well, it doesn't seem like you pulled these jigsaw pieces from all over the place.

Gustafson: That was all Cory (James Krueckeberg). He went through the whole script and picked out lines that really jump out and then constructed the songs to tell our own story and how to make that into the story that we wanted to tell."

  • It's sad for the players that these words are easier to take seriously in rock-song form. They try so hard :)

  • Um, actually I have watched the film now and I still stick by my previous decision - also if people keep replying to my messages on this it's just gonna lead to more arguments so can we just forget it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MultiBelle22 I think your making a pretty biased and brash decision. Just because you were primarily introduced to this movie through this specific song, it shouldn't determine whether the movie is worth watching. maybe you should start by seeing the trailer before you make prejudiced decisions based on the stupidest things. Just because you made this comment doesn't mean i should think you're a shallow bitch. Im giving you the benefit of the doubt. I have not spent time wth you.

  • @zeekslider I have nothing against gays and I would normally want to watch the film - but not if it's got a load of American's pronouncing the words of the Bard in American accents! Does't work!

  • @MultiBelle22 Seriously?! You're not going to watch a movie based on the PRONUNCIATION now?! Fine, don't watch it. For all I know, you'll probably just hate it because it features a gay kid turning a straight kid gay so he can live out his high school fantasy for one night.

  • @zeekslider If they pronounce Bottom as "Baddum" then it's not something I want to see!

  • @MultiBelle22 That's not what the movie is about. The play is just a plot device. The actual movie is about a gay kid who gets casted to play Puck discovering that the love potion in the play is a real, working love potion. Seriously, you're doing yourself a major discredit by not seeing this film if you "can't stand it when Americans try and do Shakespeare."

  • @zeekslider No thanks; can't stand it when Americans try and do Shakespeare!

  • @zeekslider I just mean from the way their voices sound on the "adieu" bit - those girls sound really sarcastic!

  • @MultiBelle22 Watch the movie. They aren't mocking Shakespeare.

  • Are they mocking Shakespeare in this song; because it sounds like it
