COIN LAUNDRY-THE WRONG WAY-Laundromat

Here is another one of my videos about the coin (vended) laundry business. This is a store I put in 15-years ago in San Angelo, Texas. San Angelo has about 125,000 people.
This store is 2000sq/ft & was a store when my customer decided to redo it.
30 Huebsch top load washer & 6-Huebsch front load washers. Huebsch dryers.
This is an example of how to do it WRONG. This was an excellent opportunity that went bad because no one took care for the laundry. Once it was opened the customers let it go.

I was thinking of opening a laundromat in my area... Batavia NY. A mid size town 20,000 people. Their are 3 other laundromats. One old beat up one on the east side. One in the pre war housing area on the south side. One in a strip mall on the west side. The north side is strictly residential and probably one of the if not the most populated area in the city. Spot I have picked out is a quarter of an acre site.

It sounds like you found a good location. Make sure you have plenty of parking (16-25 spots). You should be able to build about a 3500 sq/ft building and still have a lot of room for parking. Get refrences from all the distributors you are talking to. Be sure to go meet store owners that have experience in the business. They should be able to give you recomendations on the distributors.

Jeez...just don't have music or TV blaring away.  Most people like to get away from noise and the hum of the machines are condusive to reading or lite conversation. If the machines work well efficiently, fair price and decent parking along with cleanliness should attract a decent clientle.

I'm probably not the first to admit that I don't like laundromats. BUT, if I were to take my laundry over to one, I would want to have the place clean, and, more importantly, the machines work!

I want to built my own laundromat, but I don't want like the same equipment like washers and dryers. I got to a laundromat with wascomat in it, I wonder if I have like Wascomat, Speed Queen & Girbau Continietal Washers and Dexter & Huebsch Dryers. Do you think it looks kinda tacky.

We used to go to a 24 hour laundromat and I loved it you could go any time a day and do laundry, the owner sold it to retire and travel so for the last year I have been going to the crappiest laundromat ever all the front loaders have mold, no large capacity washers everything it broken its just crappy.
