Decent conditions opened up on 10 & 11 meter this morning. I snapped a video of both bands using my Yaesu FT-857d. Channer 6 "The Superbowl" on 11 meter and a typical QSO on the 20 meter HAM band. Can you hear the difference in operating technique?

"One python two python! Bye, bye bye bye..."

  • just mad because we come threw the band with splash and you cant hear who you talk to. and the wonderful thing is half them ham radios can be mod. so hahaha.

  • @mannexstein Is that English?

  • I recognized the guy who said "... bah bah bah" at the end of your video. I heard it one month ago in france? Do you know who is it?

    :)

  • @SebNormandy Nope. I also don't know what "one python, two python" means either!

  • One time I made a $500 bet to one of these CBer's over the air. I had a12 watt radio that could out range his 5000 watt, 110 ft long john equipped tower. He couldnt back down in front of his CB Buddies. So I came over that night and set up the MFJ-9420 SSB and a dipole in a tree. This was at night and the skip was gone and his CB radio was able to talk a good 150 miles to other similar base stations. I tune around on 20 meters and made several contacts into Florida, Michigan, Ca....$500 richer

  • @w5tah74ci What CBer has $500 to gamble with??

  • @juckelscorey Actually, guy, I had a vast knowledge of radio long before I was a HAM. And no, I was not born with it, lol, I was a shortwave listener from the time I was 7-years old. Why would you have to sit in a classroom anyway? I am mostly self-taught; except for electronics and electrical engineering. Anybody with half a brain, that doesn't live in a trailer park, should be able to learn everything they need to without stepping one foot in a class-room!

  • @kf6ume I see your point, but you would be surprised at how many of those guys are actually HAMs and engineers. de nv6r

  • @truckstopcowboy Oh, like in Hawaii after their last big Earthquake or New Orleans after Katrina! Oh, that's right, there wasn't any cell service, retard! Or, in San Jose when they lost a major fiber-optic line (and cell service, too, Truckstop Cocksucker), and HAMs (not CBers) handled 911 relays and trafffic.

  • Seafood & Fat gals! Geezzz....!

He should listen to Merle Travis' song "Fat Gal"! He would feel right at home!

Anyways..., thanks goodness for the CW bands! They will never show up down there.
