A week after the Caledonian MacBrayne long-term vehicle-carrying service had expired (i.e MV Saturn) , here we see , on the 8th July 2011 , the leased Clyde Marine Services vessel 'MV Clyde Clipper' about to arrive at the Clyde resort of Dunoon and it's Linkspan , which was initially built for a much larger car ferry. A very friendly crew and not afraid to have a wee chat. This interim vessel will eventually be replaced by the 'new-to-the-Clyde' Irish vessel and renamed 'Argyll Flyer'. It once provided a service to the Irish Aran Islands with the name 'Banrion Chonamara'.
It is ironic though that the linkspan , built for car ferries , now being utilised for passenger-only vessels.
