Afghanistan Farsi is the language of absolute majority in the country. The history of the country and its cultural values intertwined with Farsi for thousands of years. The place is the birthplace of great Farsi icons such as Rumi and Aviccena. Farsi is the native language of Tajiks and Hazaras who together make up over 60% of the total population in country. Others like Pashtuns, Uzeks, Noristanis, Pashais, etc. speak and understand Farsi as well.

  • In Afghanistan we only want Afghani as official language which is also referred to as Paxto.

    .

Farsi is a beautiful language but a foreign language or at least the language of Tajiks and Hazaras who again build a minority.

    .

The vast majority of Afghan citizens do not share Farsi as their mother tongue which is another main criterion not to accept it as official language.

  • @umair323 latest results of researches1) Farsi/Dari is up to 70% Arabic and the rest stolen from other regional languages like Avestan that in turn was a dialect of Sankskrit. 2) Zarathushtra is a Pashtoun descendant, his father coming from today's Nimros area. 3) Pashtou is ranked among and linked to other important ancient Eastern-Iranian languages like Bactrian, Sogdian and Scythian, Choresmian being the one and only lingual heritage of ancient Bactria that has survived until today.
