A brief history of James Street in Hamilton and its recent revival. Narrated by Margaret Houghton, who has written several books on Steel City's history. She did not want to appear on camera.

It's not the greatest, made in fall 2009 and it was the first time I edited a video using final cut. Still, thought I'd throw that shit up!

  • @Yoshuayovel yea I agree - I mean not all parts of the east end - there are certain areas in the north I wouldn't want to walk around later at night (like 1 and 2a.m.), but as a whole - for the population, it is quite a safe city.

  • @Yoshuayovel There are a few. East Hamilton is a little cruddy in places, which is a shame considering that's where most commuters pass through. But anywhere on the mountain is just like any other Canadian city, and I live downtown and really love it... lots of unique places

  • @57595153Nick Are there any dangerous communities in Hamilton, as in Toronto? I may be moving there for McMaster this September.

  • Makes me proud to be a Hamiltonian! :)

  • The lister block is finally done and is it beautiful!

  • Fantastic video! Finally, a clip on Hamilton's history. It'd be great to have a shot of the Lister Block now without the scaffolding.
