jiu jitsu has proven itself to be one of the most efficient martial arts, but if you can't get your opponent to the ground you're useless. i bet you've done 2 classes of jiujitsu and now you consider yourself a martial artist. savateurs are designed to move extremely well, and the second you go in for a grappling move you'll get a kick to the face.

look up savate vs sumo on youtube, you'll see.

@xchucky714x So you don't know that the point system is only the start of competition. For seasoned competitors it's a full contact rule set similar to that of kickboxing. Nor can you actually spell muay thai right. Yet you do find yourself qualified to judge on the effectiveness? Come back when you've actually started training.

@xchucky714x You have no idea what you are talking about-Savate fighter kick much faster than Muay Thai fighters and kick just as hard as Muay Thai fighters(with some of their sweeps hitting harder than Muay Thai!) and Savate fighter are just as good with boxing skills as they are at kicking in fact Savateurs are probably the fastest and hardest punchers of all kickboxing styles.Savateurs have superior boxing skills to other kickboxing styles including Muay Thai(Muay Thai punch like pussies)!

First of all Savate kicks are just as devastating if not more than Muay Thai and they are better at boxing than most Muay Thai fighters and other kickboxers.If you think the French are pussies, then I recommend you research Marcel Bigeard,considered by many military official including Patreus to be the best paratrooper of the 20th Century.
