Twenty-seven year old tenor Plácido Domingo, soprano Beverly Sills, and bass-baritone Norman Treigle sing the sextet "Helas, mon coeur s'egare encore" from Offenbach's opera Les Contes d'Hoffmann (The Tales of Hoffmann) in a performance from March 3, 1968 in San Antonio, TX.

  • if you were backstage at the city opera aftera treigle or sills treigle performance, the cigarettes were going in his dressing room too!

  • does anyone notice that everyone but bubbles is singing in french. she's doing it in english!

  • I don't know how Sills manages it but she always sounds so emotional when it is needed, just wonderful! the voice is warm and in prime here, all great. I met Treigle when i worked in radio back in 1969 he was smoking as we talked and we discussed many singers, tenors mostly as I had many questions, very nice man and fine artist.
