Fully restored federal model 5 siren. Got siren from a local fire dept. We sanded it and repainted it. You can see the test run before we replaced the brushes in the motor in my other video. Oh sorry for the shakey video.

  • Model 7

  • @rhett443 yea I had often thought the same thing due to the fast wind up and tall motor, but the motor tag was missing and the tag on the housing was missing so I dont know for sure

  • it is a tad underpowered.well i think

  • I dont think so. This is one of the faster model 5's Ive seen. This model 5 has the Northwestern 7 1/2 horse motor. We also checked the voltage there and had right at 240 volts.

  • is this the siren from the davidson fire department? it sounds more high pitch in that clip.

  • no, this siren is not the same. Davidson still uses the one in the other video for fire calls. I dont know why it sounds higher pitched, may be because Davidson's is a 3 phase and this one is a single phase

  • caro amico vorrei saper il rivenditore della sirena mi serve per lavoro

  • Sounds like a 2001.

  • That's pretty big!

  • We have a Model 5 on our water tower- it was last used two years ago as a noon siren. Someday with the replacement of the water tower I may get a hold of the thing. It is a 3-phase 5hp unit from the 1930s.

  • Wered You Get It

  • That thing sounds great
