can you use this phone without the data plan. i have the sidekick 3 and i can get around that activation page by pressing menu button plus the L button does it work on this phone??

i have this phone and i honestly love it! but one of the downfalls is that you have to get some data plan in order to customize message ringers and ring tones...its pretty dumb. but other than that i love this phone <3
