In this video I show you how to add bones to create a skeleton (armature), and how to make that skeleton influence a character mesh.

  • can you please help me? I extruded the pelvis bone (exactly like you did in the video) the pelvis and the extruded part does not move together at all.....

  • @c4nc3r113 They won't while you're in edit mode. When you're in pose mode (bones outlined in blue), when you move the pelvis the spine above it should move. Sometimes it just takes going through the video a few times.

  • When i went to make the parent it came up with an error "Loop in parents" and I'm unable to figure out how to fix this can you help?

  • @ShmargleFoil Most likely that means you already parented them in the wrong order. select the armature (in object mode) and press alt+p to clear its parent if it has one. Do the same to clear a parent of the character mesh just in case it has one. Also, select the character mesh and see if it has an armature modifier on it (under the wrench tab). If it does, delete it. Then, start again: parent the mesh to the armature with automatic weights. Remember to select the mesh first.

  • Hi. I love your videos. Please help me. I had made a structure with mirror, then I had added a bone structure but it only functions in the side which is not the mirror. The same thing happens me when I tried to add particles for hair. What am I doing wrong? Thanks...

  • @cha11in6lrg at the beginning of this video I believe I applied the mirror modifier. Under the wrench tab, within the mirror modifier options, press APPLY. you'll need to delete the armature modifier and re-parent the mesh to the bones.

  • the size ofthe bone was off XD

  • Hi! it seems you know your thing, so another (begginer) question.. When i parent my armature to the mesh with automatic weights, single bones control random portions of the persons mesh.. any ideas?

  • How long to make a character like that?

  • I never seen so much "like buttons" without any dislike button :-)

Good work, but i miss something, Can i save my current movement pose and let it run several times?

    Greetings
