This 2001 siren in Algonquin Illinois DID activate, but unfortunatley the camera was not on while it was going off. I went through so much to get to this siren. However, you have a great system recording. In the background you can hear a ton of sirens from towns like Huntley and Carpentersville, and maybe even other ones in Algonquin which I have to locate. You can hear 1 or two thunderbolts in alert, whelens in whoop tone, something you rarely hear. You can also hear a whelen or two in alert mode, and also a another 2001 siren somewhere. At the end, if you listem closely, one of the whelens talk. Turn up your speakers for that. I'm trying to figure out exactly what it's saying.

Algonquin Illinois has 2 federal 2001 sirens that I know about. The other one is right next to a school. It also has a 2 or 3T22 somewhere which could possibly be heard in this videol. I hope I get the sirens that could be heard in the distance sometime. And I'll definately get this 2001 siren again someday, and get a recording of all the ones in the distance again. ENJOY! • Is Gurnee,IL near here,If it is,All the Whelens are from there,I Also Hear:

    1 2T22(Algonquin)

    1 2001 DC(??)

About 6 Whelens(If Gurnee is near here)

    1 Thunderbolt 1000(Carpentersville)

  • @bulldozer950, thanks for the comment. Gurnee is not near Algonquin.

  • that siren failed

  • @davidlee110, it went off. The camera was not on when it was going.

  • What is the far distant siren that kept going was that siren set to go for a five minute Alert Signal

  • I have to locate all of those sirens overheard. You can hear thunderbolts, whelens in whoop tone, and whelens in regular alert. (steady) I'm not sure if they are supposed to go for five minutes. I'll tape this siren again sometime since I missed it, and we'll see how long the ones in the distance go. And hopefully, I'll find them, and get a recording of them.

  • i had to listen to about 4 sirens when i woke up for a test

  • What is that one you hear at the begining winding down? A P-50/T-135?

Also nice finding Whelens doing whoop tone in Illinois!

  • There's one at Presidential Park in Cinnamon Creek, too.

  • @TspesVladD its on huntington rd. next to the water tower on the east side of hanson. i thought about recording it but its not in the best spot as trees are quite heavy in that area.
