60th Anniversary of the PRC
Hands off China campaign celebrate China's 60th Birthday!

George Galloway speaks at Saklatvala Hall, Southall, on 3 October 2009, at a meeting organised by the Hands off China campaign to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese revolution, and founding of the People's Republic of China, on 1st October 1949.

He celebrates China's liberation from imperialism and feudalism; her rise as a power that will soon enable her to veto the aggressive actions of US imperialism creating a more balanced, multi-polar world; and asserts that China is socialist. For all these reasons china deserves our support and admiration and we celebrate her 60th birthday!

Excuse??? So telling the truth about how china's death toll has been deliberately blown way out of proportions is somehow going to be dismissed as an "excuse" ehh.

Well, the scale of the crimes matters. The scale and magnitude of the cirmes always had and always will matter. British empire killed far more than mao every had and yet the media praises the British Empire and demonises MAo.

@MyCrownOfWorms - Crown, you're wrong; suckered by lies re USSR. In fact Stalin backed probably by Jews had factories in USSR turning out tanks and planes. That's why the Germans, despite being 'very very powerful' didn't just steamroller the USSR.

@rerevisionist Size doesn't matter. Most of the USSR was Siberian nothingness. Germany had a large population and the Nazi Empire had significantly more territory than merely Germany. The Nazi Empire was very, very powerful. The quality of their troops and their tactics were unmatched at that time. Galloway IS anti-English Imperialism. So am I and I am of British blood.

@MyCrownOfWorms - you've been suckered. Germany was terrified of the USSR and with reason. There is no chance that Germany would dominate - it's quite a small country, if you check the map, population figures etc. WW1 was the biggest disaster since I suppose the Wars of Religion and set the stage - 'Communists' (in fact a coup by Jews), then Fascists and National Socialists would not have happened without it.

Galloway I think is anti-English, specifically. However he was right re Iraq.

@rerevisionist WWII was necessary. Would you like to see a world where Germany dominates all of Europe? A world controlled by Fascism? Hell, WWII was partly Britain's fault since the Treaty of Versailles made Germany pay the war debt of numerous nations, including Britain. Further, do you think he supports those party's that have led Britain since the 50's? I doubt it!
