My first (and fast) Matchmovetest with HD footage taken with my new camera Sony HDR-XR500V.

It's just fast made, so the tanks animation is based on normal keying and does not look that good.
Matchmoved in SynthEyes, Model in 3ds max, composited and color corrected in After Effects. No reflections.
Rendering took 5 hours cause of IES Sun set in 3ds max.

  • Question: how do i mask the tree? can you make a tutorial?

  • @theBOSS3105 create a feathered, dynamicly moving mask. And spend some time on that one unlike me. I did it in a few minutes, the Result isn't that great but it works aswell.

  • Try to shoot somewhere with no bushes/trees, the masking on the bush looked pretty bad at the beginning. Since you matchmoved the whole thing you could always add trees in your 3d program for more realism. Good composite overall though

  • @EthanLDaniel Than show me how to simulate complex trees in 3D.

The rotoscoping of trees is actually not that hard, but I didn't spend that much time there.

  • masking could've been better (by a longshot; the tree looks horrible in the foreground), but other than that, great composite! What game did you get the model from?

  • @TheFXGuy I don't know, honestly. I found it somewhere in the web. Maybe battlefield.

  • It takes 5 hours to render and it is only 36 seconds.. so how long it takes to render the transformers and avatar film???? WOW. lol

  • please make a tutorial!!!!!!!!!

  • How did you mask because i want to have objects walk in front of my object but the model is allways on top. I use after effects for jpeg sequence, voodoo for tracking, and cinema 4d for putting the 3d model in the movie. should i export from cinema 4d to after effects and mask from there? thanks and great job on this video i love it!

  • now make it shoot!!! :P

  • The poor bird...it almost got squished!

  • lov it nice work!

  • Ok but animation suck
