This is how I replaced the drive belt on my Raytheon ST1000 tiller pilot. The same process is used for the ST2000. I have had to replace the drive belt 3 times in 9 years. Raytheon do not sel the drive belt by its self. You have to buy the whole gearbox kit. I have found a supplier for the drive belt and can get them!!!

Any Raytheon (Autohelm) dealer. I have some drive belts for sale if that is all you want.

You can purchase a "Gearbox kit" from Raytheon which has the belts and gears. I got the drive belt only from a manufacturer. I have found that the last 2 times it has failed it was the drive belt only. Raytheon does not sell the drive belt alone.

Depends on the amount of work you autopilot does. Usually last a few years.

  • how long can belts last?

  • Thanks for the wonderful video on u-tube. Can you say where you purchased the drive belt? Thanks,

    Marnie

  • Where do you get the gearbox repair kit?
