PlayerOneReady (Japan Mix) (2009)

PlayerOneReady! is a noise video at the stitchings of the glitched, bent, hacked, recycled, appropriated and early gaming retro-mash-up. The foundation of the sound and video was created using a hacked Jakks Pacific's Namco TV Games - Ms. Pac-Man Collection unit with a simple custom built controller. All the sounds are from performances with these devices and custom sound libraries. Special attention was paid to visual noise, glitches and digital artifacts. Some were generated by the old technique of sending audio levels into the video line, thus merging the analog and the digital in the feedforward and back of the two. My desire was that the noise become expressive movement in rhythms of simple audio-visual form or the dance of the glitch!
