MyTalk software should be downloaded and installed before you plug the ERA in to the computer. When you plug it in, it will install the hardware automatically. Then you "SYNC", for a new configuration update on "MyTalk" (on the web).
Great video! Thanks!

@doubleatheman That's too bad, I was looking at getting this one. I have the Voyager Pro, Etyblu2, etycom wired, and TheBoom wired. The etyblu2 sounds good, but is very picky about mic placement and is overall very quiet. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't be looking at the Era. I think the Voyager Pro is much more natural sounding, but not nearly as good w/ background noise. And nothing compares to the TheBoom wired. Oh well.

@jumpfroggy Yep, and it does not sound that good. But that's the nature of bluetooth headsets, this one is actually one of the better ones I have owned.

Finally, a review with actual sound from the Era. Thanks!

I have a trouble with my Jawbone Era 2011 when i talk he can't ear me because the sound is jerky.
I very dissapointed about my jawbone and it is the last one i buy.
A many person on their forum have a trouble with this earphones for the same trouble and the company don't release a fix at all user for this trouble and he continue to sell the Era in the store.
They are laughing at us
For the future buyer with a Iphone 4 i say DON'T BUY IT....

@jawbone so THAT's why my name sounded so clear and natural! You were even prounced Nguyen correct!y!

Can you test it paired directly with your computer please?
And with music blasting so we can hear the noise cancellation.

That was a great review. Other than Jawbone, have you used any other brands (specifically BlueAnt Q2 or the Plantronics Voyager Pro+)? I'm looking to buy a headset for use with my phone and laptop (possibly at the same time) but have never used one before. And I'd rather only have to buy one once, so I don't mind the cost. There are too many options!
Also, just wanna say, I have the same desktop case as you, the same Samsung monitor as you, and I used to use those speakers. Nice choices. :P

I absolutely love the ERA. I love being able to listen to Netflix over this device when I'm at work. My only complaint is that the battery is not in the range of the touted 5.5 hours. I'm only getting 3 hours on this device.
Your friend's voice sounded clearer than your voice when you had that test conversation. Through the jawbone you sounded processed and electronic. Have you tried other headsets other than Jawbone?

@xer0fyre As he should sound more clear, he was talking directly on his iPhone, and I was on my bluetooth.
It went like this:
My voice > Jawbone > iPhone > Google voice > My computer > My Camera
His Voice > iPhone > Google voice > My computer > My Camera

@xer0fyre Also I have tried many other headsets over time, but not in the last year.

Thanks for the review... Just a heads up you can use Caller ID by voice on the Jawbone ERA now. If you visit MyTALK.jawbone.com and visit the advanced settings menu, you can load up to 20 voice contacts onto your Jawbone ERA. We literally recorded thousands of names, with a real person. We will continue to record even more names as the months go on to cover an even wider range of people. This is the most intelligent text-voice solution on the market today.

@8:30 I find out that you can load the new voice contacts. In the beginning of the video I was not aware of the new feature.
I have to say this is one of the cooler features of the Era, that I have to say was not really advertised all too much. I love it I don't need to look at my phone to know who is calling.
Thanks for the comment!
