ORKUT COMMUNITY: http://www.orkut.com.br/Main#Community.aspx?cmm=1042486&refresh=1 -------QUEBE SISTERS BAND, an American fiddle western swing group from Fort Worth, Texas. The band consists of sisters Grace, Sophia and Hulda Quebe as well as Joey McKenzie on guitar and Drew Phelps on upright bass. Formed in 2000, the band performs Western swing, hot jazz and swing standards and western (Bob Wills, Sons of the Pioneers), vintage country and traditional Texas style fiddle tunes. They are currently based in Fort Worth, Texas and tour internationally. The three sisters started taking fiddle lessons from Sherry McKenzie (Joey's wife) and later from Joey, learning traditional Texas-style fiddling. The girls began entering fiddle contests and had success early on; winning several state, regional and national fiddle championships. ---------- http://www.quebesistersband.com/index.php ----------

Its A Sin To Tell A Lie
(Words and Music by Billy Mayhew, in 1936)

Be sure it's true
when you say "I love you"
It's a sin to tell a lie.
Millions of heart
have been broken
just because these words
were spoken.
I love you, yes I do, I love you
If you break my heart I'll die.
So be sure it's true
when you say "I love you"
It's a sin to tell a lie
I love you, yes I do, I love you
If you break my heart I'll die.
So be sure it's true
when you say
"I love you"
It's a sin to tell a lie!

Georgia On My Mind
(Song written, in 1930, by Hoagy Carmichael - music and Stuart Gorrell - lyrics))

Georgia, Georgia,
The whole day through
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind

I'm say Georgia
Georgia
A song of you
Comes as sweet and clear
As moonlight through the pines

Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you

I said Georgia,
Ooh Georgia, no peace I find
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind

Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you

Georgia,
Georgia,
No peace, no peace I find
Just this old, sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind

I said just an old sweet song,
Keeps Georgia on my mind!

  • These girls are something else, aren't they? Seems to me they are just about to catapult to stardom. I think we are going to see a good deal more of the Quebe sisters in the future...

  • @BuddyBoyes

  • They still make me laugh and cry at the same time!

  • heeey i found it! just heard these guys on prairie home companion over the weekend. im not really into "country" music (this transcends country music) but these guys ... or girls.. are phenomenal!! this song has been stuck in my head since i heard it. theres a certain "intensity" to the vocals that really just drills into your mind. same with the fiddles. excellent!

  • "A treasure in a sad time" indeed! I couldn't add to that.

These girls are the real deal. Hopefully they can hold on to their happy go lucky attitude in this world we live in.

I wish them the best. God bless them all.

  • WOW...these girls are so very talented!!! God Bless them...my husband makes his living as a singer/entertainer as well and he has the utmost respect for the Quebe Sisters. As a matter of fact, he has posted their video on his Facebook page. It's a real shame that such great talent sometimes goes unnoticed. By the way, if anyone is interested in hearing another great talent, please check out my husbands videos on YouTube. His name is Bob Gauvreau...

  • @webstercat Unfortunately I agree with you 100%.

The bright side is that you can get a front row seat to a Quebe sisters concert for $20. I haven’t a clue how much a front row ticket to see a barely dressed lady Gaga would cost but I am sure that it would be something that would make me shake my head is disbelief .

  • @REYELBRAZ

Buddy they are way too talented to go to the top in this culture. Unfortunately the top is where no talents like lady ga ga have to dress like freaks and sing like dogs to get noticed. God Bless The Quebe Sisters may they keep music fresh and clean for people with taste.

  • MY GOD..WHAT TALENT..I WILL SEE THEM SOMETIME WHEN THEY ARE BACK AROUND FT WORTH...LOVE THE SOUND...

  • I think I saw a quick cameo of Ray Benson in there. I would love to see Asleep at the Wheel and these girls perform, Joey and Drew too. That really needs to happen.

  • I play guitar by choice but fiddle is my insterement very good up-tempo on some but they sure satisfied me E>C>

  • today is the first time I have seen or heard them but it won't be the last, love it,,good music ,, harmony great ,,,reminds me of the mcquire sisters of old,, its good to see young folks doing this style,,keep it alive
