  • what kind of pick ups and amp you using? it has that great early 70's sound.

    thanks for this great lesson.

it's the only one on you tube.

as great as this song is, and seeing who it's by"

you would think it would be all over you tube. I would really love to play the acoustic on this one. but I love both. now thanks to you, I jam on this from time to time and I just love it. thanks" again!!!.

  • Sorry, I'm not much of a gear-head, so I'm not sure of the pick-ups... I do know the lead one was swapped out for a brighter sound, but the middle and rhythm pick-ups are stock for a '66 Strat. I'm playing through two Fender Blues Juniors, hence the reverb. Thanks for the kind words!

  • is that a TELE neck on a Strat ?

good work though , pretty accurate and fairly well taught , if what sort of confusing with the string naming .. top string and numbering order back to front... it's eb by the way.. cool and once again thx

  • The neck was put on by the previous owner 38+ years ago... Sorry about the confusion, not sure what the standard is. Low E is 6th? You're right about the tuning, I found out later at practice that Jimi was in Eb that night.

    Thanks for listening!

  • Whoa, so that means that neck is, at the latest, from 1970?

  • I think it's a '67 Tele neck.

  • SUPER VID!!-- WISH Jimi had lived long enough to put out more BLUES --sure he would be jamming with Buddy Guy and Jimmy Vaughan - man, I have a version from FYE but it doesn't tell you where and when recorded-- it is UNBELIEVABLE!!--I will try to post at flatted357 -- hey, super job- very helpful/ thanks a lot!!

  • According to Guitar Player's Jimi Hendrix issue (70's) his roadie, Eric Barrett, insists the Strats were stock all the way thru: pickups , electronics, et al. Jimi only configured around w the vibrato bar, the better to get it into prime ergonomic usefulness for him.

  • that tuning is just a 1/2 step down from standard i think ......thats the tuning i use and it just sounds alot like it to me

  • wow thanx man!

    just got me laid :P

  • Brilliant

  • thank you my man :) u've been very helpful
