As I was working on my 90s movie songs video awhile back, I started thinking about the similarities between these two movies and couldn't stop. Next thing I knew, I was venturing into unfamiliar waters completing a new video that highlighted these similarities. Here's the finished product. Like it or hate it, it's been uploaded for your viewing pleasure =P

It just so happens to be 2012, a big year for both movies (15th anniversary of the Titanic movie and 100th anniversary of the actual ship's sinking, and 20th anniversary of Aladdin). Go figure =)

  • The comparisons are so true!!!! I am a huge Titanic fan, but I never thought of simalarities from Aladdin. The big difference is the ending though.

  • @1tangledfan, glad to provide some revelation, and thanks for watching =)

Regarding the endings though, I'd say there are more similarities than people might give them credit for. Yes, the lead male dies in Titanic, but the mission is accomplished: she's freed from her confinement (symbolized by the passing of the Statue of Liberty), takes his name, and begins a whole new life for herself.

Or maybe I'm just stretching it...I don't know, you decide =P

  • Oh my gosh. I was laughing because it's all so true! It's scary. It's funny how the lead male's friend waves his hand in his face when he first spots her. Crazy. I heard Aladdin is coming out again on DVD for the 20th anniversary. Yay! I love Aladdin.

  • @TheDisneyfanatic99, heh, it is scary isn't it? I honestly found the similarities in their most famous scenes more eye opening: both start with the guy offering his hand and asking "do you trust me," and both are about flying (although Titanic's wasn't literal).

    Thanks for watching =)

  • @ZhangtheGreat You're welcome. You can't really fly on a boat, can you? :)

  • @TheDisneyfanatic99, well you can't really fly on a carpet either, but hey, it's fiction =P
