An exceptional version of this beautiful song from 1982.Nico has never sounded better with James Young's piano providing the perfect accompaniment to Nico's sombre, poignant vocals.I loved this song before I heard this version. It now has a permanent place in my Nico top ten.
It's actually a studio recording, not live, though most tracks on the album are live, from her last concert before she died.
Thanks to Serge Mironneau's website,a lovely set of rare photographs adorn the middle of the video collage.

  • this is the first time i have ever heard Nico, and i am impressed. She had a very haunting voice, very unusual. I enjoyed this! She reminds me of a female Jim Morrison

  • @AllenandHammond

Nico would have appreciated being described as a 'female Jim Morrison'. Or as she called him "Jeeem". She was already 43 in this recording. It's worth hearing her voice when she was in her 20s too ... still haunting but not quite so deep. Nice feedback, Dom. :-)

  • @TheSuendenfall

Thank you very much for your two thank you's. :-) I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures chosen here. She is just so wonderfully photogenic. I echo all your sentiments.

"To see the world in a grain of sand, and Heaven in a wild flower" wrote Blake. Had he met Nico, he would have added "To see the world in Nico's eyes ..."

I adore this version of Saeta ... so sombre yet poignant. Bless you. : )
