it's a long video, but trust me, it's worth the listening, i hope this answers what many don't understand about calling capcom out on their poor business decisions

  • @roler42 Plus, he didn't win the fucking tournament, and not every match he won was a throwaway. He did legitimately beat some people, and he did lose to some very good players. He did okay against Chris G, who's a top MVC3 player from New York. The tournament itself did not rig the matches. It was certain individual players.

  • @roler42 He's 8 or 9 years old. No one was spoiling him, but to go the biggest fighting game tournament on the planet with over 1000+ plays in the tournament for MVC3 this year, to lose horrible due to lack of knowledge of a 9 year old would crush his spirit. Why not let him take a few wins? What's wrong with letting a kid have fun? Madcatz is sponsoring Noah at the moment, even know he's not the best MVC3 player. Why? Because he's a kid and they want him to have fun with something he loves.

  • @UltimaWeapon08 excuse me but... what does being a kid have to do with it not being a bad thing? what kind of legitimate tournament rigs contests due to the age of ONE competitor???

please tell me how spoiling a kid during a competition is a good thing

  • @Dragonage2ftw and it's not. It's cancellable into gamma charge to make it safer, but if you don't gamma wave (which Noah didn't at evo), it's punishable. Good players who played him did not punish it, even though it's common knowledge that it IS punishable. I'm sure some of the matches were rigged for the kid, which isn't a bad thing because he's a kid.

  • @UltimaWeapon08 Exactly. Spamming ST.H shouldn't be an effective tactic in a tournement, much less evo.

  • @Dragonage2ftw Cheap and and easy =/= a button masher. Noah, although made it to EVO and got top 52, there were obvious claims that some of the matches were rigged by the player Noah played to have him win without Noahs knowledge. Plus, Noah wasn't button mashing. He just spammed St.H.

  • @UltimaWeapon08 Considering how Justin Wong said MVC3 was "cheap and easy" and how an 8 year old made it to evo this year, I'd say it's button mashy.

  • @UltimaWeapon08 plus, why should I even bring the casual players into this? They suck at the game. They will probably drop the game after a month or 2, and if they wanna really get good at it...guess what? They're not a casual player anymore :D. See the evolution?

  • @roler42 Dude, it's a fighting game. The game is meant to be competitive. Competitive does not automatically mean tournament worthy, but tournament play is the highest point of competitive play. SSBB is technically competitive, but that doesn't mean it was tournament worthy. Plus, the reason why UMVC3 was made was to benefit competitive play. If you look at the change list of the older characters, it's obvious. Phoenix, X-factor, and wolverine were toned down.

  • @UltimaWeapon08 that's what i understood since that's the only group you bring up so you can back up your argument wich isn't much when you look at the bigger picture of this game
