@fight341 I also had an accident with an avalon in high school while driving my 1990 300e. I rear ended the avalon (wet road after it rained). I won. ;D

I'd take this anyday over some jap crap rice burner!

yeah mercedes makes really great cars, my 1991 190e saved my life. i got in a car wreck on a mountain road and my car was totaled but i got out of the car with only minimal cuts and whiplash. had i been in a shitty honda i would have died. thank you mercedes

@sariglenn The sound does shut off when I turn off the car. It sounds like a small fan motor and its coming from underneath the right speaker of the dash. Its not very loud but very noticeable if I have the ignition in the accessory position. I cant get any a/c component to kick on so I dont know if the noise is a/c related. And thanks very much for responding. Ive tried looking on forums but to no avail.

@sariglenn sounds great!, surely they cant be devastating for the car´s function, but this noise, does it still sound when the car is shut down? because that sounds unfamiliar to me..

@coolakiIlen007 I traded for the mercedes and its literally one of the smoothest riding cars ive owned. There is a gas smell and i noticed that the gas cap doesnt seemed to pressurize. Also the brake pad sensor light is on and there is a noise under the right side dash that sounds like a motor running. I cant get it to shut off. It runs constantly. Other than these issues the car has been well preserved inside and out.

@sariglenn Mercedes w124 is the last quality built merc, it has the over engineered engineering which were set to a standard and not to a price. from what i know the (inline) 6 cylinders should be as durable as the 4 cylinders only consume more gas. and as it is an older model and a petrol one, it should be low on insurance and taxes. and ac is a very common problem, especially on the 2 zone climate controle or whatever when there are a lot of buttons instead of "wheels", which are better. :)

I am looking to trade my 1994 3000gt w/144k miles for a 1992 300e 3.0 w/ 160k miles. The owner says the ac blower motor is bad but everything else works. Its a very clean looking car from the pics. I am supposed to go next week and test drive it. He was going to give it to his son but his son wanted a sportscar instead. I notice the values dont hold very well , why?? Can any1 give me insight on the 300 e v6 3.0?

Perhaps a case of poor maintenance and not knowing how the fuel/electronics work? Maintained properly they are very reliable.
