I know a couple of us advanced girls have been practicing the twisted grip since we saw Joy's.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-NrhuphZGg

Here is my progress. It's been about a week and i feel really secure in my grip when i'm up there. I did not do the twisted grip inverts ever before i tried it in the handspring. Now i prefer it. Also i am finding it much easier to control my body on the way down then on the way up. I still have to jump a little to get into it. My goal is to be completely fluid and "levitate".

What i love about pole dancing is seeing everyone make the impossible possible, awesome job to the other ladies posting their progress.!!! Redke and Starrrgirl look awesome..

And if you are thinking about trying new tricks Just remember take it slow, Pole dance is a lot of strengh, control, and flexibility, stretch and dance it out a lot, and when trying something new do some trial runs. know where you are gripping, with what parts of your body, where your weight is going to be distributed, and how you will get out of it.

  • I love your splits!!!!

  • thank you, i stretch every day even when i'm not on the pole.

I just filmed a stretching tutorial, keep your eye out for it.

  • amazing bonus trick! I am trying to figure it out.. cannot do that.. can you pls explain how you do that?

  • Start close to the ground, until you can hold and control the move. Top arm thumb up, Bottom arm thumb down. Make sure your arms are straight push body away from the pole and hold. Move your body back towards the pole in the direction your shoulders are open. You will get your spin from the distance you have gained, and by leading with your legs. Low leg straight top tucked. Try to lift and wrap your lower body when you start the spin, so that your hips far above your bottom hand.

    ; )

    Good song too.

  • is this ur only form of exercise?? (btw, love the kitty in the background)

  • haha i wish i picked up that fast

  • that was awesome

  • I think it's really hard to keep your hands from slipping so you have to have a strong grip. And also good oblique and ab muscles.
