Alleluia Sing to Jesus

Alleluia! sing to Jesus! His the scepter, His the throne.
Alleluia! His the triumph, His the victory alone.
Hark! the songs of peaceful Zion thunder like a mighty flood.
Jesus out of every nation has redeemed us by His blood.

Alleluia! not as orphans are we left in sorrow now;
Alleluia! He is near us, faith believes, nor questions how;
Though the cloud from sight received Him when the forty days were o'er
Shall our hearts forget His promise, "I am with you evermore"?

Alleluia! King eternal, Thee the Lord of lords we own;
Alleluia! born of Mary, Earth Thy footstool, Heav'n Thy throne:
Thou within the veil hast entered, robed in flesh our great High Priest;
Thou on earth both priest and victim in the Eucharistic feast.

  • Lovely stuff all over, thank ye! Incindentally, the union between old hymns or liturgical music and more contemporary (or tradsy-folksy) music is something I've worked on for a good while. Maybe I'll post something in the future. One question: Does your cut capo playing actually differ very much from playing with DADGAD tuning + an ordinary capo?

  • @markusasunta cut cap sounds a lot like DADGAD, except key is in E....with the cut capo on open is EBEABE...

    However, chord positions are different, since there is an offset. Google cut capo chords.

    God bless,

    Bill

  • Very beautiful song full of praise and blessings God bless you ,very soothing voice and beautiful guitaring.Praise the Lord!!!

  • Excellent! I love this hymn but only heard it with a choir and organ. I never dreamed it would be so powerful with a solo singer/acoustic guitar. I hope more people listen to this and I hope more people bring this song into greater use in the church.

  • Search google on cut capo and go the article on praisecharts.

    Cut capo frets 3 strings, the A, D, G on the 2nd Fret forming an Esus chord.

  • Hi Bill, just curious on the capo...how many strings is it clamping? and which ones?

    Peace be with you, brother in Christ.
