How chit, I have one of those Atari devices! Found it at a garage sale some years ago. I have no idea when it was produced, but the imagery in the intruction book & wood-grain/silver case suggest the late-'70s/early-'80s. First time I tried it out I played Van Halen's "1984" & man... What an effect! The way it reacts to more precise electronic signals is a sharper image is produced. The best way to hook it up is to feed it from the audio line-out ports on the VCR so you can record all of it.
