it's not like there HAS to be an f1-related reason why ferrari loved villeneuve almost like a son, more than any other of his drivers. do you always have a reason why you love someone in your life more than someone else? i think it's just the same :)

@ton308gts nah, as i saw in videos Gilles was too crazy driver to win a championship :) i prefer he still Gilles Villeneuve than a Michael Schumacher.

Gilles was born in my home town of Chambly Qc. Canada he was way ahead of his time and we sincerely believe he would of been World Champ.if unfortunately lived longer "SALUT CHAMPION "

To be love like a son by ENZO and to be compared to Tazio Nuvolari and worshipped by the Tifosi to this day puts him waaaaaay ahead of schumacher

@MrTann2010 He didn't like him because he always changed teams, To Enzo Ferrari the team was everything, To Fangio the team was replaceable at the drop of a hat. This is why he did not care about him.

@AbstractsParody hmm Fangio drove for Enzo in 1956. He drove for a full year and even won the world championship in his car. At the end of the year, Enzo Ferrari said that there would never be a world champion like him. Only once? nah. The reason why Enzo Ferrari didn't really like him was because of Enzo's refusal to treat him as the no 1. driver in the team.

As a Canadian Gilles Villeneuve meant so much to me when I was a child. I was absolutely heartbroken when he was killed, but I am, to this day proud to call him my countryman. He was an awesome competitor, but more importantly he was a tremendous person, the epitome of class, integrity and honour. Salute Gilles.

@23deniro23 it was Tazio Nuvolari and Gilles Villeneuve that enzo cared about, he didn't much like Fangio as he only drove for him once and then just left.

Enzo Was a very Hard man and gave all his drivers a hard time except two,he loved Gilles Villeneuve and Juan Fangio and would never say a bad word about them.......................
