Welcome to RØDE University! A place where learning isn't about monotone lectures and long essays. We're here to rock as much as you are, so sit back and join us as we show you all the 'ins and outs' of recording broadcast audio.

In the second part of Sound Effects Recording, Professor Ric takes the gear out of the studio and gets his hands dirty recording a car-by on location.

See this and many other specially made programs for the musician, engineer, producer, photographer and audio enthusiast at http://www.rodetv.com.

  • good, helpful videos, but agree with the other commentor. lay-off the 2nd b&w camera angle. Also, the studio shoot needs to have the camera dropped a foot or so, and close the headroom, I fee like Ric is straining his neck to look into the camera (the on-location footage is great). Also, I'd love to see more comparisons between mics. Ie, "this is what it sounds like when you do it wrong... and this is what is sounds like when you do it right." (or with different mics).

  • Nice videos, but the two camera recording where one is shown in black and white is just distracting and annoying. It seems like it's trying to look cool, but it just annoys.
