KYW News 3 -11pm - 1997

The look of News 3 was 3 years old by 1997, but the other news stations (particularly 10) had established far more aggressive looks. So KYW changed the music to a harder cut originally used on KYW's "Bulletin" newsmagazine, and added zooms to most of the graphics and opens. This made for a pretty disjointed news presentation.

To be fair, though, a far more substantial and impressive change came a few months later, in time for the winter olympics. That change saw the reinstatement of "Eyewitness News".

The top story here... obviously the passing of Richie Ashburn, the popular Phillies player and announcer. Hard to believe, Harry...

Does anyone have the video of Harry Kalas poem he read in at the start of the phillies - mets game the day ashburn passed away . i remember he almost didnt get through it but the pro that he was , he did. i had on vhs but i cant find it !!
