I think they used this in Aliens, yes?
-
most people don't know this but this song was chosen by Kubrick because it was originally written about the Horrors of the Holocaust. at the time Stanley was very interested in the holocaust.

@Faramir122 Is it Jesus's GBF?
-
@geoprudden You kidding? Read the Bible!
-
@Kubrickfan27 i can see both of your sides to that.
He was yes a genius and i love all his movies... cept Clockwork Orange, i think that was him...
anyway, he did yell and scream and degrade the actress who played Wendy to get her to become so emotional for the camera
sometimes you gotta be an asshole to get some REALLY good acting outta people
so yes he was an asshole, probably one of the best directors of all times, but an asshole
-
Who is Jacob?
-
Stunning.
-
i think the middle part of this song is when the wife finds the manuscript that shows how long he's been going crazy
-
Does anyone know where I can find the version of this where Jack is in room 237? It's the same thing, but it has this high pitched noise and a sort of heartbeat sound also.
-
This doesn't sound like the one in the movie - or the official soundtrack for that matter. Probably a different arrangement.

i think the scariest part of the shining was the music...and the asshole stanley kubrick cut most of it out

@Iasamei "The asshole Stanley Kubrick"? I hope you're joking. If not, you have no idea what you're talking about. Every track that I posted was included in the film. The only soundtrack that was cut out was the original score composed by Wendy Carlos. For future reference, think before you post a non-sensical, ignorant comment.

the score was written by wendy yes however if you read, stanley cut MOST of that music out like i said before. i read it on imdb.com (a VERY reliable website unlike wikipedia). thats all i was getting at...and yes stanley was an asshole. read some stuff about him you will see what i mean

@Iasamei I know all about Stanley Kubrick. Not only have I seen all of his films, i've read various books and seen numerous documentaries about him including "Stanley Kubrick: A Life In Pictures". I can understand why you would think that, but I personally wouldn't use that word to describe him. I would use words like "enigmatic" or "eccentric" or "non-conformist" or better yet "genius". He was a very misunderstood man. Then again, I am obviously biased.
