@KinletHallsthebest It all depends on where there is space socket for the decoder. Some have it in the tender (like the Super D and the American Bachmann tender engines) others like Tornado have it located in the locomotive either behind the motor or in front of the motor. Some have it in the tender because there might no be enough space in the locomotive for the decoder.
That front bogie truck - you said some people have reported them falling away from the body. Is that a problem across the A1 / A2 range or just Tornado?
back through the hole in the frames first (it will allow a little bend if necessary, this will return straight afterwards if not overly forcefuil). Then, marry the chassis and body up to one another, where you should be able to relcate the rod into the hole in the cab where it originally came from.
Just as a tip to anyone taking off a body of a Bachmann A1 locomotive - the instructions tell you to undo the 'rod' as per this video. Instead of this, what you should do is to 'move' the chassis forwards and the body backwards simultaneously. What you will find is that the rod will come out of a hole in the body and will just 'slip' through the body to chassis hole that prevents you from removing the body easily.
Then, when you come to replace the body, simply slide the wire.....
I am lucky enough to have one of these locos and what a loco!! It runs beautifully and will never stop, but the main driving wheels, as shown on other videos, do wobble which sometimes worsens and derails it but that is the only downfall. The Tornado is a lot of money but well worth it. Everyone has to have one!
is it possibe to fit a front light to this?
