Would have been nice to....hear the separated amps?
This was the Dave Jerden trick to get Jerry Cantrell's awesome tone on Dirt

How do I get this dude job? Thumbs up if you want him to let us know!!!!!!!!

George Lynch used to apply this amp technique in the 80's with Max Norman, or maybe Michael Wagener, can't recall which producer/engineer.
George would have dirty, clean and somewhere in between amp sounds and mix them up.

Really great tips! Thank you

@qorwoduf4 - Pod Farm, Amplitube, Waves.... lots of options to get there affordably.

who cares if someone gets your tone or close to it???there isn't anyone in years that has that of a unique tone anyway.

Or maybe stop spending your life looking for the perfect guitar sound and re-learn how to mix drums! Modern rock drums sound awful. Kick drum sounds like it's about 25 feet wide (blasting a huge whole in the bottom end leaving no space for anything else) and the snare sounds like the drummer dropped his stick into a plastic bin. Completely ruins modern rock and metal!
