that position is completely wrong. you have to switch from holding the ankle with your hand to digging your forarem inside of the leg its hard to describe but the inside of your elbow and your de la riva hook have to form a half guard sort of speak. and thats why your at risk for the knee bar because your not switching your grips.

@kenprimo I thought the comment towards the end was before you commit to the sweep ... when you do commit, you might be in danger.

Why did he not mention the option that at 00:49 to sit up into half guard you should have the momentum to continue up into position and maybe even continue to sidemount?

@FfantasyF any move can be done in a match if done by the right person at the right time. Mendes bros seem to use similar techniques and they are world champions. you tell me. thanks

At 0:28, the purple belt might be in danger of receiving a kneebar from you. All you have to do is grab the left leg of your student, swing the right leg over his head for a straight kneebar.
