Caterham R500 and Ariel Atom 300

Chasing down an Atom 300 in my Caterham R500 with sequential box at a recent trackday at the RAF Abingdon airfield.

Very close in terms of outright acceleration, but I think you can see that the Caterham *just* has the edge - probably due to the sequential box giving closer ratios and quicker changes.

The atom with the V8 is the 500 iirc.

Caterhams are more my thing anyway :)

@predator5723 No the 300 isn't the V8. The 300 i think has a honda civic type r engine with a supercharger. V8 much faster.

@jasonzhu2 ask urself the question, what is vtec sound? its just a change in engine note that u hear. Maybe he just pressed the loud pedal at the right time for u to think that its a "lift engine". Stock its super fast due to torque and lightness. Would be slower with any stock engine designed for dual purpose - ie vtec
