it was alot harder to find jrock stuff a few years ago, i think it's much easier now. imagine me, who can't buy things offline. i've got no way to get any of it anyways XD

and alot of people give me shit about liking jrock but thats the reason i love them is that you WON'T ever find any american bands, or any other bands, doing that kind of thing. it's great :]

I'm 41 and people my age give me grief for still liking metal (as if once you become a certain age you should listen to John Tesh or something), so I totally understand you. I'm kind of rediscovering J-rock and remember why I've always liked it. I like theatre and spectacle. I like when musicians break boundaries and just let the art happen. And let's face it, pretty men in leather just get me every damn time! Gackt in leather...drool!

What I really love about this video is how free they are with their sensuality. I mean I couldn't imagine any American rock band--even ones that consider themselves "cutting edge" ever being that tactile with their fellow bandmembers onstage. Frankly, I think it's sexy and I find it very masculine when a guy can determine for themselves what being "male" is. And Gackt in leather shorts and those boots...Guh!

I'd originally been introduced to this band by my friend Kat who was into the whole Gothic Lolita look back in 2000 or so. I thought they were cool but it was totally difficult to get imports (even some of the Japanese bookstores/music stores didn't always carry a lot of J-rock. Now I guess I'm playing catch up. I watched Moon Child a few days ago and Gackt is not only a talented singer, but a pretty damn good actor.
