How to make a besom pt1

The first part on how to make a besom, or broom. I tried to make it another way, but it didn't work out so I made this up on the fly. So far mine has held together. Crossing my witchcrafty fingers ;-)

I'm going to make a video on how to make a wand probably in the next week or two. I'm going to make a few: wood, glass and metal. Any pointers would be great though. I welcome it all.

I originally wet them to make them easier to work with. But the way it was supposed to be done didn't turn out right at all. So I had to figure out a different way. Plus dry they were cutting into my fingers and wet made them easier to work with. I have no idea what type of branches they were. It wasn't identified on the packages I bought. I got them from Michael's though.

How i made a besom:

I cut straw from old, sweeping broom,

ai dried a long stick for a week,

i used twine and tape to bind them together

it was messy, yet after 3 weeks, it still is holding together.

I like how you did it to, but for those who cant or dont want to buy any twigs or find them, you could try this way.
