Scottish song called The Ghosts of Culloden., sung by Scottish singer Isla Grant.,
Fighting for Bonnie Prince Charlie at Culloden moor, the blue bonnets were out numbered and starving.
The Jacobite claim to the throne was subsidised by the French to put Charles Stewart on the throne, was doomed from the start and finished with him fleeing dressed as a woman, helped by Flora Mcdonald who was imprisoned for her troubles,
The only battle the Jacobites lost during the whole campaign was at Culloden.
There are all kinds of reasons for the defeat but it was a tragedy for Scottish culture that lost so many of its strongest advocates that April morn.
I recommend all Scots and their descendants to visit the battlefield, where the flags marking the positions, still remain and pay a tribute to our heroes who will never be forgotten.

the only Scots in my family were from Fife(shire?) as far as we know, oh and maybe Stirling too (Fallin-Throsk area?)... anyway, for us, what's done is done, we're in the USA and have mixed with other Euro and non-Euros. Interesting history though and we wish the Scots in Scotland and elsewhere all the best. Albainn abu!

@TheDarkFrontier Aye, the scots that helped cumberland were disgusted by his actions. I do not blame them. He hung people that wore kilts killed bagpipes and outlawed scots to bear arms. He is a little bitch that did no fighting, he ordered people to do his work, in fact the campbells and other scottish clans that helped him win culloden refused to help him murder rape and pillage. He has a grave in england, i spit on it about 1ce a year...

@Iusedtobeacat93 "Charles Stuart led a rebellion against the English to regain the throne because he was a Scot" Charles led a rebellion against the Hanovarian regime in both Scotland and England because he wanted to put his father on the throne. He was no more a Scot by blood than the Hanovarians were themselves. In other words out of his eight great grand parents one was a Scot.

@IwuvSoCal After the death of Queen Anne the throne was supposed to go to her brother James II but the Parliament refused to crown him as a King because he was Catholic so they gave the throne to George I of Hanover who was an indirect heir and a Protestant. Jame's son Charles Stuart led a rebellion against the English to regain the throne because he was a Scot a lot of Scots followed him especially from the Highlands but they failed and the clans were destroyed. A lot of people Highlanders died
