I want my DTVeeeee
DirecTV championed their NFL Prime Package in 2008 using the device of a large TV screen sitting behind the celebrity talent extolling the benefits of the select package.
DirecTV agency Deutsch wanted an upgrade from the previous campaign more of a locale, better light and TV integration and a grand move to begin each spot. Through a series of 15 spots, the campaign included Payton and Eli Manning, LL Cool J, Dennis Leary and Charlie Sheen speaking against the giant jumbotron behind them.
The movement of the camera that began each spot was filmed in realtime and then sped up 700% in post. As each actor was speaking during the move, we had to track the camera, twice. Once for the action of move and then the actors head speaking in real time. We placed the head of the actor talking in non-sped up motions to the camera moving in hyperspeed.
The screen was designed and created in 3D and each shot was composited and integrated into the scenes.

I can't believe anyone especially after that Thurs night game vs Oak, even the cool and casual L.L. Cool J, would be so foolish to say that he's a big Rivers fan. I know no one like that. The Turner-Rivers era will reach its ugliest moment when the overrated Chargers head to Soldier Field to take on my Bears. A QB rivalry will be renewed and it'll be Cutler with bragging rights as Rivers get schooled and has his career going nowhere!
